How To Make Slime w/ Contact Solution
Creating slime from contact solution is a fun and easy activity that can be enjoyed by people of all ages, and it’s a great way to use up any leftover solution you may have after getting LASIK eye surgery. In this article, we’ll walk you through the steps to make your own slime using only a few household items.
Materials Needed To Make Slime:
- White school glue
- Water
- Food coloring (optional)
- Contact lens solution (must contain boric acid)
- Mixing bowl
- Spoon or spatula
- Measuring cup
How-To Make Slime w/ Contact Solution: Step-By-Step Video
DIY Slime Recipe Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine 1/4 cup of white school glue and 1/4 cup of water. Mix well.
- If desired, add a few drops of food coloring to the glue and water mixture to give your slime a colorful twist.
- In a separate bowl, mix 1/2 teaspoon of boric acid (found in contact lens solution) with 1 tablespoon of the contact lens solution.
- Slowly pour the boric acid and contact lens solution mixture into the glue and water mixture, and stir until well combined.
- Use your hands to knead the mixture for about 2-3 minutes, or until it starts to become stretchy and slime-like.
- Your slime is now ready to play with! Keep in mind that it will be sticky at first, but the more you play with it, the less sticky it will become.
- If the slime becomes too sticky, add a bit more of the contact lens solution and knead it again.
- When you’re finished playing with your slime, store it in an airtight container to keep it fresh.
And there you have it! Your very own homemade slime made with contact solution. You can experiment with different colors and even add small objects like glitter or beads to make it more interesting. Have fun and be creative!
