Joseph Thomas, M.D. is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. Dr. Thomas received his medical degree in ophthalmology from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He has been performing laser vision correction since 1997 and joined LasikPlus in 2006. He has performed over 80,000 laser vision corrections and uses multiple laser platforms to offer patients a variety of bladeless treatment options.
Dr. Thomas has also performed thousands of cataract procedures. He has completed a cornea & refractive surgery fellowship at the University Hospitals of Cleveland. He has taught and assisted residents in how to successfully perform advanced, no-stitch cataract surgery and other intraocular procedures. He is also a diplomat of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Thomas is married and the proud father of three. He may often be seen attending hockey games or playing tennis or golf with his family.

This was a dream come true! I have an unrational fear about my eyes. From the moment you walk in you feel like you're talking to a long lost friend. So you're comfortable from the moment you enter. When the procedure happens the Doctor talks you through before he does anything down to the seconds its going to take. There are no surprises. I felt like I was in good hands. I was one of the lucky ones that came out with 20/20 vision the very next day with minimum bruising (though it varies from person to person).. This was the very best decision I have ever made!
The procedure itself took less than 20 minutes. Very weird experience 😄. The few hours after we're uncomfortable, to say the least, then I slept for a few hours and when I got up, no pain, no irritation, and just a little haze. The next day my eye lids were swollen, but not much else wrong. I'm only on day 2 and other than swelling... all is well. I went to my follow up today and could read the 20/20 line! Super glad I decided to do this.
Had a great experience from consult through follow up. Staff was knowledgeable, kind and put me at ease about the procedure. I am so glad I made the decision to have LASIK and am so happy with the results!
I’m glad I got this done in Columbus! I was very nervous to get the procedure done and Dr. Thomas’ kind words and directions really helped during the procedure. The procedure itself only took around 15 minutes. I’m glad I allowed myself time to recover and was off work days after the procedure and due to the holidays. I would not have went back to work the day after the procedure due to the dry eyes and that my job requires me to look at screen all day. Currently I’m a week out and feel great!!
Dr. Thomas did an amazing job. He texted me the night before from his personal phone to make sure I was comfortable. He also called me the same night after my surgery to make sure I was ok. That spoke to me, that this place really cares about their patients and they love to change our lives! I am so appreciative of them! 🥰 UPDATE: I had been wearing glasses 24/7 for 25 years. I could not see far away. They told me that I have 20/20 vision now! Life changing!!! 🥳
