Urooj Chandwany's Bio
Dr. Chandwany is a Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry (UHCO) in 2019. Prior to attending UHCO, Dr. Chandwany received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Texas Austin, where she also studied Italian. During her time in optometry school, Dr. Chandwany completed externships at Hastings Hospital in rural Oklahoma and HOPE Clinic in Houston. Through her training, she gained extensive knowledge in the management of dry eye, ocular disease, and the co-management of cataract and glaucoma surgeries.
Dr. Chandwany is a native Texan and grew up in the greater Houston area. She has recently moved back to Austin and enjoys traveling, hiking, and spending time with family and friends. Her favorite travel destination to date is the Amalfi Coast and she hopes to go back for fresh gelato and pasta someday! Until then, she looks forward to exploring the food scene in Austin and revisiting her old stomping grounds.
