Dr. Catherine Hagan's Bio and Credentials
Catherine E. Hagan, MD, is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and a graduate of the University of Louisville School of Medicine. A native Floridian, she hails from Ocala and attended the University of Florida for her undergraduate studies. She has been performing laser corneal refractive surgery since 2006 and has performed more than 15,000 procedures with the United States Navy.
She served as an Undersea & Dive Medical Officer for the US Navy and has a special interest in the hyperbaric treatment of eye conditions and frequently lectures on the topic. During her time serving as a Chief Medical Officer, she underwent training and gained extensive experience with the subject of elevating the safety and quality of healthcare. Melding this experience with her expertise in laser corneal refractive surgery has fueled her passion for delivering the safe, high quality, patient-centered care.
As an avid scuba diver, and sailing, triathlon, and horseback riding enthusiast, she has always greatly appreciated a life independent of prescription glasses and contact lenses.

The service provided was outstanding. The doctors took great care of me throughout the process and the procedure has been a complete success.
The procedure was very quick and easy. The eyes burn a little bit on the first day. All the staff was very helpful and kind. It is awesome to not have to wear glasses!
Cannot recommend enough! Staff was kind, inviting and knowledgeable from the FREE consultation all the way through the procedure and follow up. The procedure itself was so quick and painless. I was very nervous to be awake during the surgery, but it was not bad at all. The numbing drops do their job 1000%. The only discomfort was a pressure sensation that lasted less than 10 seconds on each eye. I was able to see “perfectly” immediately after surgery. The first hour or so post-op I felt a stinging/burning sensation almost like having swam with my eyes open ion a chlorinated pool. I took a nap as directed and when I woke up ~ 3 hours later, the stinging/burning sensation was gone and my vision was back to “perfect” again, not even a dry or gritty feeling that they described might happen. At my follow up appointment, I am seeing better than I was with my up to date prescription glasses/contacts. What a wonderful feeling to be freed from having to worry about them. The follow up was very quick and I was reassured that if I had any questions or changes in my vision, they were available. As others have said, my only regret is not having the procedure done years ago!
A week into having LASIK and it the best decision I’ve made. The surgery was less than 5 min and the results are stellar!! I see better than ever with 20/15 vision. Highly recommended. Thank you ladies
