Joseph Thomas, M.D. is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. Dr. Thomas received his medical degree in ophthalmology from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He has been performing laser vision correction since 1997 and joined LasikPlus in 2006. He has performed over 80,000 laser vision corrections and uses multiple laser platforms to offer patients a variety of bladeless treatment options.
Dr. Thomas has also performed thousands of cataract procedures. He has completed a cornea & refractive surgery fellowship at the University Hospitals of Cleveland. He has taught and assisted residents in how to successfully perform advanced, no-stitch cataract surgery and other intraocular procedures. He is also a diplomat of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Thomas is married and the proud father of three. He may often be seen attending hockey games or playing tennis or golf with his family.

I wanted to get Lasik for years but was not a good candidate previously due to pre-existing health conditions. My most recent glasses prescription was gonna require bifocals so I was hesitant to get Lasik to finally see far without glasses but womp womp I would need readers to see near. Thankfully I was a candidate for Monovision and literally decided on the spot that I wanted that so I wouldn't need glasses ever (God-willing). Barely 24 hours later and I read my phone and drive with no issue. The first 4 hours after the procedure was ROUGH. Imagine eyelashes and sand in your eyes and someone is cutting onions and you can't do anything about it. But legit I am so wicked pleased with the results now and look forward to seeing better in the coming weeks. To me it's well worth the investment and I'm so thankful to the Easton Columbus location and all of the staff. Like the doctor even texted me a day before the procedure to ask any questions which is such a reassuring feeling to have access to the information on demand. Ok that's all ; )
Although I was nervous at first, the staff assured me that there was nothing to worry about. I'd say I was inside the operation room for 3-5 minutes total. The procedure itself took 1 minute, it was more them explaining what to do for each step and making sure your comfortable. I'm glad I went through this and I would definitely recommend this to others that want to rid themselves of glasses or contacts altogether.
The people are friendly and everything went very smoothly. The procedure took less than 10 mins and wasnt bad. Doctor Thomas is very approachable and would call/text you a day before for any questions and the very day for follow up. I was dead tired from my work, as I had surgery right after my night shift work, and slept almost all day and night after the surgery. You’d feel lots of pressure in eyes during surgery and little pressure almost like for 24hrs. Would also feel some burning with the drops and irritation (which means it time for the tear drops). I loved the place and i can already say that I have better vision cuz my asigmatism was really bad and needed glasses all the time. All in all, it was a pretty nice experince.
Wonderful experience! Everyone goes above and beyond to answer questions and make you feel comfortable! The entire process is seamless and it’s amazing to be glasses free!!!!
Wow. What a phenomenal experience at LasikPlus in Columbus. The staff were kind and knowledgeable. The procedure was quick and painless. My vision is 20/20! That hasn’t happened in decades!
