Dr. Carter Tisdale's Bio and Credentials
Dr. Carter Tisdale is a board-certified ophthalmologist and active-duty U.S. Air Force physician specializing in advanced laser vision correction procedures, including LASIK, PRK, SMILE, and ICL surgery. He also performs cataract surgery and eyelid procedures, offering a comprehensive range of eye care solutions to patients seeking visual freedom.
Originally from Alabama and Tennessee, Dr. Tisdale earned a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences with a Minor in Spanish from Auburn University. He completed his Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine before commissioning into the U.S. Air Force in 2013. As a Flight Surgeon, he served in Combat Search and Rescue operations in Las Vegas, NV, and supported deployments across the Middle East in 2019 and 2020, delivering critical care to aircrew members and rescue teams.
Dr. Tisdale completed his ophthalmology residency at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium (Brooke Army Medical Center and Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center), where he served as Chief Resident. He is currently stationed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio, where he provides LASIK, PRK, SMILE, and ICL procedures to active-duty service members, as well as cataract surgery to military retirees and their families. He also contributes to the education of future healthcare professionals through his work with Wright State University.
Dedicated to global outreach, Dr. Tisdale has participated in multiple medical missions to deliver sight-restoring cataract surgery in underserved communities throughout Africa, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean.
