As soon as you stand up from your LASIK eye surgery procedure, you will notice an improvement in your vision. When you get home from your surgery, you’ll be requested to take a nap. While the eye will begin to heal right away, taking a nap can help speed up the healing process and recovery time. After waking from your nap, you should be able to see much better, but we recommend relaxing the rest of the day. A majority of patients are seeing 20/20 the morning after your LASIK surgery procedure and most patients return to work and most of their daily activities, including driving. Over the course of the following few weeks, you may notice slight fluctuations in your vision, which are a normal part of the healing process.
Prescribed anti-inflammatory and antibiotic drops, as well as lubricating drops used during the follow-up procedure, will facilitate a faster recovery time with minimal discomfort.
