A native of Idaho, Dr. John Bennion is an expert ophthalmologist and refractive surgeon and is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. His surgical experience includes cataract removal, MIGS, LASIK, blepharoplasty, and eye eyelid malposition repair procedures. After graduating from the West Virginia School of Medicine he went on to complete a Transitional Internship and Residency with the San Antonio Uniformed Service Health Education Consortium. His professional accolades include his serving as the Chief of Ophthalmology at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska. Additionally, he is a Captain (Major Select) of the United States Air Force Medical Corp where he served 4 years of inactive reserve time and is currently serving 5 years of active duty time.

In his free-time, Dr. Bennion enjoys spending time with his family, which includes a wife and 4 children, camping, biking, playing sports. In essence, he loved being active in the outdoors. Some interesting facts about Dr. Bennion include that he has an identical twin brother, he is an Eagle Scout, and he if fluent in Russian having lived in Siberia for 2 years.
