Meet Ron Allen, M.D.

Ron Allen, M.D.

Dr. Allen has been performing laser vision correction for 18 years,  five of which have been spent at LasikPlus. In total, Dr. Allen has performed over 28,000 laser vision corrections.

Dr. Allen helped conduct the clinical trials that garnered FDA-approval for LASIK laser vision correction and has over 20 years experience treating all sorts of eye problems including cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration. He enjoys setting patients at ease during their treatment and believes that simply explaining everything the patient will experience — and talking them through the procedure itself — reduces any anxiety.

“We have a passionate commitment to patient care and clinical excellence at every level. We have amazing clinical experience, custom technology, great, caring staff, and leaders who believe in us and LASIK.”

Dr. Allen has an extensive background in cataract surgery, spanning 23 years and several thousand cataract lens replacement procedures. He now partners with Visium Eye Institute™ to provide complete cataract solutions to his patients. He offers a wide variety of replacement lenses to not only relieve the cataract but also to correct near and distance vision, astigmatism as well as close up vision for reading without glasses. For those not suffering from cataracts but wishing to get rid of their reading glasses, Dr. Allen offers a clear leans exchange procedure as well. Click here to learn more about cataract surgery with Dr. Allen.

On a bad day, what is the success story you recall to help you through the day?

I used to teach dance to 4 year old children.  One day, I showed the dance students how to walk on their tip toes “like a ballerina.” One of the little girls stopped me and exclaimed, “That’s NOT how Angelina Ballerina does it!”  I gently explained there are many different ways to walk like a ballerina and today I would like the class to try this one.  She said, “Ok” and the class went on.  This young dance student always reminds me to have a good attitude and say “ok” to trying things in a different way.
