Other Treatment Types
There are a number of treatments that are not performed at LasikPlus but are still performed by some doctors. At LasikPlus, we are dedicated to performing only the safest, 100% bladeless techniques proven to deliver the best results for our patients.
Other vision treatment types include:
-
Radial Keratotomy (RK): A non-laser refractive surgery, RK has been used to treat mild myopia and involves creating incisions in the cornea in a wheel-spoke pattern radiating out from the edge of the pupil. These incisions serve to help flatten the cornea and correct for nearsightedness. Types of this surgery have also been used to address astigmatism.
-
Conductive Keratoplasty (CK): A non-laser refractive eye surgery, CK corrects mild hyperopia through the use of radio-frequency energy. This energy effectively shrinks the eye’s connective tissue, forming a belt around the cornea and increasing the curvature of the eye’s surface.
-
LASEK (Laser Epithelial Keratomileusis): Similar to PRK, LASEK procedures apply laser energy directly to the eye’s surface to reshape the cornea but preserve an extremely thin layer of epithelial cells that is replaced following the reshaping.
