About Custom LASIK at LasikPlus
Custom LASIK surgery utilizes technology called a WaveFront analyzer to measure your prescription and map the surface of your eye to determine any imperfections it may have like an irregular cornea. Custom LASIK surgery and its precise, individualized mapping provides a level of detail that helps surgeons avoid some of the complications that can occur during LASIK surgery for patients with irregular corneas such as glares or halos.
If your eyes have any abnormalities or you have an irregular cornea, Custom LASIK surgery from LasikPlus provides you with a wonderful chance to obtain the best quality vision possible from a laser vision correction procedure. If, however, your eyes are ideal for LASIK surgery and you do not have an irregular cornea, you may not need Custom LASIK surgery.
Custom LASIK surgery is not an advanced form of LASIK laser vision correction, but rather is used to better address ocular abnormalities — like an irregular cornea or large pupil size. On the flipside, if you have a very strong prescription, small pupils, no signs of an irregular cornea and no higher-order aberrations, Standard LASIK surgery may benefit you more than Custom LASIK laser vision correction.
