LASIK - LasikPlus Traditional Vision Correction
What is the General Process of LASIK Like?
After your eyes are anesthetized (using drops; no injections are needed), we use a precise, motorized instrument to create a hinged flap of tissue on the center of the cornea. A computer, controlled by your LasikPlus eye surgeon, is used to deliver cool pulses of ultraviolet light cleanly and precisely.
How Do Lasers Address Imperfections on My Corneas?
During the LASIK procedure, lasers smoothly sculpt the corneal surface. Each cool pulse of the laser evaporates only a small amount of corneal tissue - about 1/500th of the thickness of human hair.
Will I Needed Patches or Stiches?
No. After your LASIK surgery, which typically takes between five and fifteen minutes for both eyes, the corneal flap will be replaced. Corneal tissue has extraordinary, natural bonding qualities, so no stitches will be needed.
How Long Do I Have to Wait for My Vision to Improve?
Most LASIK patients notice a dramatic improvement in their vision immediately after the procedure. Vision may still fluctuate day to day. Some patients might need 3-6 Months After LASIK for their vision to stabilize.
